Archives and Manuscripts Collections Master List
The master list groups the Calumet Regional
Archives' collections by general subject category. Most of the
collections have an inventory describing the contents of the particular
collection. Some inventories are more detailed than others--many
collections enjoy detailed collections lists, while others have
only a brief abstract or preliminary inventory. To view the inventory
for a particular collection, choose if you want the tablebased
or non-table based version and click on the appropriate link.
Archives and Manuscripts Collections Keyword Subject Index
We also have available a keyword subject
index to those collections for which electronic inventories
are available. You should use this index if you are seeking a
specific subject or if you want to identify all the collections
relevant to a particular topic.
Visual Materials
The Calumet Regional Archives contains over 7,000 images depicting
a variety of people, places, and events in northwest Indiana history.
The following lists describe photographs, postcards, and slides
in cataloged collections; the materials are arranged numerically
by collection number.
Many other images are housed in collections not yet organized
or processed. For information on visual materials in unorganized
collections, contact the Archivist.
Maps
The Calumet Regional Archives houses maps of Lake and Porter Counties,
municipalities, and the Indiana Dunes National Lakeshore. The map list is organized alphabetically by city, county,
and the Lakeshore.
