Wesley V. Timmerman was born at Randolph, NY on January 12, 1840.  He lived there until the “oil excitement” in 1859 enticed him to move to Pennsylvania, where he married Mary P. Webb on February 20, 1865.  Their children included Allie, Webb, Alden, Frank, and Fred.  The family eventually relocated to Fort Benton, Montana.

Wesley and Mary’s son Fred was born on February 18, 1877.  He was a proprietor of the Timmerman and Richardson Funeral Home at 5906 Hohman Ave. in Hammond, Indiana during the 1930s and 1940s.  He married Emma Johnson on February 14, 1903 and obtained a divorce from her in Montana on March 3, 1919.  Fred’s second wife, Clara, was born in Collins Center, NY on July 9, 1872 and moved to Hammond in 1920.  They were members of the Immanuel Evangelical and Reformed Church in Hammond.  She was active in several Hammond organizations.  She died in 1944.  Fred married Lena Webester on June 7, 1945 at the [renamed] Immanuel United Church of Christ.  He died in 1952.

Wesley’s brother, Frank P. Timmerman was born at Randolph, NY on May 3, 1856.  He married Mary Talcott on July 19, 1877.  Frank was the proprietor of the Erie Hotel in Erie, Illinois.  They had two children: Craig, who died in 1929 and Bernice, who married R. B. Shannon and moved to Florida.
