83d thru s Army letters from Lt. John Krueger to family back home, there are 16 letters. He was a Doctor serving in Germany right after the war. The letters dating from December 12, 1945 to March 17, 1947. Some of the letters are asking for as many cartons of cigarettes as possible.  The Barter system was used in many places. Example cigarettes for buttons sewn on a shirt.
