Scope and Content
The Vera Perdue Papers contain a variety of items gathered by a Glen Park family in the mid-twentieth century. These items document a number of subjects in Calumet Region history, including churches, industry, and education. The collection comprises bulletins, newsletters, and company publications from the Fieler, Riley, and Bailly schools, the Budd Company, and the Glen Park Church of Christ, along with several other local Churches of Christ. Of particular interest are several issues of The Democrat, a newspaper printed during the 1962 Lake County election campaign. While the Perdue Papers lack comprehensive documentation on any of these subjects or institutions, they do provide useful glimpses into the various topics.
